Setlist

Recording information

There's a recording with the songs which are mentioned in the setlist - the recording ends with Peanuts.

Trivia

This concert was reviewed in Sounds, NME and Melody Maker on September 29, 1979. These reviews don't mention which night of the two Hammersmith Odeon gigs they review, but it's a good guess that reporters would attend the first night. Born In The 50's and Be My Girl, Sally are mentioned in the reviews, Landlord isn't... Another review in Superpop - October 6, 1979 - mentions that a large plastic bottle was given to Sting at the start of Message In A Bottle - this would fit the recording from today's show. As the review also list some more songs the setlist seems to be complete - except for Landlord...

The Superpop review also listed the equipment used for the Hammersmith Odeon gig:

Sting:

  • Ibanez fretless bass guitar
  • Ibanez fretted bass guitar
  • Moog Taurus pedals
  • Ampeg amps

Stewart Copeland:

  • TAMA Imperial Star kit
  • Zildjian cambyls
  • TAMA Octobans
  • TAMA drum synth
  • Roland Chorus Echo

Andy Summers:

  • Fender Telecaster
  • Pete Cornish effects board
  • Echoplex
  • two Marshall 100 watt amps
  • two 4 x 12 cabs

PA:

  • Entec with a 20-channel Midas Monitor and 32-channel main desk
