Introduction
Titus Groan and Gormenghast were the first books in Mervyn Peake's series of "Gormenghast" novels. In 1984 the BBC produced plays of these first two books. Titus Groan was broadcast on 1984-12-10, with Gormenghast to follow on 1984-12-17. Both 90 minute plays would eventually be released in 1990 on two cassettes, and again in 2000.
A combined 160 minute version titled "Titus Groan of Gormenghast" was broadcast on 1992-12-25. BBC 7 repeated the original versions on 2003-09-21 and 2003-09-28.
