The concert took place in an upper storey of a still unfinished hotel in Mexico City.
Only 1.000 tickets for the 2.000 seats in the Gran Salon were sold to the public. The Police had to agree to the government's terms of a guest list of around 1.000 political figures. The ticket price included numbered tables in the room and a small buffet of pizza and red wine.
The concert was supposed to start at 8:30PM, but The Police began to play at 11:30PM. The concert lasted one hour and 15 minutes.
