On the day Don't Stand So Close To Me reached No. 1 in the UK Andy Summers cleaned the lavatories at his new home in Kinsale, Ireland.
1980-10-04 Record Mirror mentions that he's been at his new home for three weeks, so he probably went there right after The Police returned on 1980-09-03.
Earlier that year Andy had rented a house near Galway on the west coast, but couldn't stand the isolation.
(The song officially reached the No. 1 position on September 27, but during a journalist's visit on 1980-09-25 they already refer to Don't Stand So Close To Me as having reached No. 1.)
