Trivia
For their gigs in New York The Police stayed at the St. Regis hotel. Sting was interviewed for NME in the limousine on the way to today's concert and later at the Garden.
Jol Dantzig delivered new Hamer guitars to Andy Summers backstage at Madison Square Garden and Andy used the Hamer Prototype during the concert. These three photos were all taken by Jol Dantzig at Madison Square Garden and show Sting and Andy with Hamer guitars.
There were about 20.000 people in the audience at Madison Square Garden. Someone threw a bottle into Stewart Copeland's bass drum during De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da. While Jeff Seitz fixed the problem Sting sang The Yellow Rose Of Texas to entertain the audience.
Today A&M promoted the band's efforts with a two page ad in Billboard magazine.
