This is a very basic template to use for articles about events in Police history. You can add header sections and images as you feel necessary in order to properly illustrate the event. For actual performances, please use [[Template:Performance]] instead. Event articles should be named in the YYYY-MM-DD format to be properly registered in the timeline calendars. | This is a very basic template to use for articles about events in Police history. The Police record with John Cale at Pathway Studios | |
---|---|
Date: | 1977-08-10 |
Location: | London, England, UK - Pathway Studios |
Attendees: | The Police, John Cale |
The Police record at Pathway Studios again - this time with John Cale as producer. They recorded an early version of Dead End Job with alternate lyrics and arrangement, plus two vocal takes of Visions Of The Night - a combination of those 2 vocal takes were later used on the Walking On The Moon 7"-single.
Vocal Take 1 featured alternate lyrics, whilst Vocal Take 2 featured the same lyrics as the authourised version. Both versions also featured a guitar solo right at the begining of both vocal takes, but was later removed when it appeared as a B-side to the 1979 7"-single.
John Cale was drunk and reading the papers most of the time. Sting was quite upset...
John didn't like Andy Summers - so he wanted Henry Padovani to do the guitar solos which Andy didn't accept.. In the end John said that Andy should do the solos with Henry's guitar.
