Summary=

StingUS is a fansite for Sting and The Police. It features news (sometimes exclusive), links, an active messageboard, chat function, bootleg and concert information.

Site history

  • StingUS was launched in the summer of 1999, to fill the gap left by the end of the Dutch Sting Association. StingUS was originally a replacement Dutch fanclub and fanzine.
  • In mid-2000 the website began posting news updates, in English, often obtaining exclusive content.
  • In 2001, StingUS launched a weekly Sting newsletter on line and moved servers.
  • Upgrades to the website began in 2003, and by January of 2005 the website had become a portal with additional features for the community.[1]
  • There have been occasional fan kerfluffles between members of the StingUS messageboards and those on policefans.org and the Stewart Copeland Official Site. These kerfluffles have often come down to perceived biases among the fans frequenting each site respectively, and which fans feel best served by these sites, specifically Sting vs. Stewart fans.[2],[3],[4],[5]
