Trivia
Last Exit were hired as the pit band for the Rock Nativity musical - additional musicians being Derek Lunn (drums) and Iwan Williams (keyboards). They were not credited as Last Exit in the programme or media publicity.
The musical was written by Tony Hatch / Jackie Trent (music) and David Wood (story). Frances Tomelty was the leading actress, playing the Virgin Mary.
According to Sting's Broken Music they started rehearsing in mid-October 1974. He also mentions that rehearsals began a few days (?) after one of Last Exit 's gigs (the first one was on 1974-10-16).
The musical ran for six weeks - from the 1974-12-18 press performance to 1975-01-25. The only problem for Sting were Wednesday's matinee shows which collided with his job as a school teacher.
Today's performance was at 7:00PM.
