Quotations and trivia

Sting produced this song right after The Police played their concert at the Reading Festival on 1979-08-24. When Duggie Campbell had to do the lead vocals both Sting and Hugh Padgham were surprised that they weren't as good as on his demo. Duggie replied that the demo's vocals had been sung by his drummer - whom he sacked because he was better than himself !!

Two years later The Town House's engineer Hugh Padgham produced The Police's Ghost In The Machine ... and then many more The Police / Sting works.

Keyboarder Paul Fishman would meet Sting again when he supported The Police on their 1984 US tour with his band Re-Flex. Sting later joined Re-Flex when they recorded How Much Longer at Utopia Studios in London, England, UK.
