Sting was the first musician to record something for this project. Producer Rupert Hine went to New York, where Sting recorded a bass part on his Fender Jazz Bass and a drum program on his Synclavier. When engineer Stephen Tayler arrived Sting's basic track from the Synclavier was transferred to Sony digital 24-track at Hip Pocket Recording Studios.
Godley & Creme filmed Sting playing bass.
