Band history
Gordon Sumner played with the Vieux Carre Jazzmen in a yet unspecified period. The band itself existed for decades.
Peter Deuchar (banjo / guitar) founded this band in 1954. Members included Peter Gascoigne (trumpet), Jack Goodwin (trombone), John Saxelby (clarinet), John Lowes (bass) and Pete Drysdale (drums)
John McLaughlin may have been an occasional member of The Vieux Carre Jazzmen (but it may have been with another band formed by Peter Deuchar.
