The Police's New Zealand tour should have looked like this:
- 1980-02-29 - Christchurch Town Hall
- 1980-03-01 - Auckland Town Hall
- 1980-03-02 - Wellington Town Hall
- 1980-03-04 - Auckland Town Hall
The first Auckland show sold out, so a 2nd concert was organized.
The most probable version of events is that only one New Zealand concert was actually played - at Christchurch Town Hall on 1980-02-29.
Then the "facts" get a bit confusing (check out the References section at the bottom). The Police may have cancelled a concert at Wellington Town Hall today. As Sting had lost his voice The Police went to the New Zealand mountains to relax for a few days.
Today at Christchurch District Court a 27 year old musician was charged with possession of marijuana, having been busted at the airport. He was discharged without conviction and asked to leave the country.
Stewart Copeland was born on 1952-07-16 - just sayin'...
