Andy Summers leaves Soft Machine (they sack him).
It's possible that he played a last concert with them at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York today.
In his book One Train Later Andy mentions that he stayed at the Chelsea Hotel for six weeks until he finally contacted Zoot Money again. He offered Andy to join the Animals, so Andy travelled to California then.
In L'Historia Bandido Andy Summers mentions that their first concert together was at the Newport Pop Festival - which was on 1968-08-04.
