Trivia

Earlier that day in Richmond: Sting starts the 20th Great River Race (river marathon with row boats) with a cannon. The race itself involved some 280 boats and 1,700 competitors rowing the 22-mile course. Sting, who confessed he had never rowed in his life, said: "I think it is an important event and I wish all the competitors good luck. "I've got a job to do now and a bigger one tonight."
