My sister and I got to the GreatTweeterCastCenter (as it was named by someone there) pretty early, because I needed to sign the flag. On the way I stopped to get two packs of mini kazoos, being kazoozie floozie and all...Once there I met up with EVERYONE. We tailgated for a while. Near the time we were planning on going in Jeff came to the tailgate and hung out with us for a while. As was already noted, he signed the flag. We were all chillin at the cars when empty came up with the great plan of giving Jeff one of the packs of kazoos that hadn't been opened yet. When we headed in, we all stood around for a while, and Kate and I didn't end up getting to our seats until a bit into the Costello set. After Elvis's set, Little Sis and I walked down to the aisle between the front section and our section. I was taking pics of Stewart's kit, when a guy walked up to us. This convo was had.
Guy: Are you two together?
Me: yeah, why?
Guy: How would you like front row seats?
Me: um, what?
Guy: Front row, right up there
Me: (While starting to hand over my tix) How do I know these are real
Guy: What you don't believe me, look at my badge.
Me: Ok, but you need to walk us down there.
Guy: Fine, but when you get there you need to be enthusiastic.
Me: That wont be hard
So he walks us to the aisle heading down to the front row. Says hi to the woman checking tickets and walks us down to our seats. Right in the middle of the front row. When I get down there I stare in amazement at the seats, pinch myself a few times, because I was sure i was dreaming. Then I ran over to Empty and Pluto, and told them what happened. As Jeff was setting up the kit, he had one of the kazoos that I/empty gave him in his mouth, he also waved and pointed at me and Kate while he was up there. Went back to see Musie and Perryl. I was squeeing beyond belief, and when the show started totally tsssted myself. I totally freaked out when I saw Stewart point to the flag, and later point again when I knew the flag wasn't being held up. As the texts said, Stewart pointed at me a few times. (Thank gong for the watermelons and happiness shirt).
Oh yeah, the show was awesome too. Minus the already mentioned DSSCTM trainwreck, which wasn't THAT awful, the show was amazing, they are so much tighter than last year when i saw them at Fenway #2. The setlist has also changed for the better, and it was simply amazing watching the musical aspect of the band up close (as in the physical playing of the music).
