Date: 1977-10-18
Location: Paris, France
Attendees: The Police, Wayne County & The Electric Chairs

The Police and Wayne County & The Electric Chairs drive to Paris, France. The Police stay at the Hotel du Havre at Rue d'Amsterdam, close to the Gare Saint-Lazare.

Information from a Phil Sutcliffe article:

"When The Police arrived in Paris they checked into a flea-ridden hotel behind the Gare Saint-Lazare. In the foyer, Sting noticed a poster for a Comédie Française production of Cyrano de Bergerac.... Later Sting passed an alley full of prostitutes, some quite young. In his hotel room at night he combined these impressions to: "Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light..."

(The Pigalle red light district is not far from their hotel...)
