Location: London, England, UK - Matrix Studios
Attendees: The Police

Between 12:00pm and 09:00pm The Police record two songs at Matrix Studios: "What Can I Do?" (Next To You) and "Truth Hits" (Truth Hits Everybody). After eating at a restaurant Stewart returns home.

This Truth Hits Everybody version is structurally very similar to the Outlandos d'Amour version we all know. But there are some interesting differences. Sting ends almost each line in the verses on a high note. He still did that during The Police's first US tour in October 1978, although the LP version had been recorded by then. Another difference is how - or better: when - "Truth" is sung in the chorus. On the LP version "Truth" is sung on "3" and "Hits" on "3and". On the 1977 version from Matrix Studios he sings "Truth" on "2and" and "Hits" on "3and".
