Sting first met Edin Karamazov at a 1992 Circus Roncalli performance in Hamburg, Germany - where Edin performed classical tunes with a trio. Edin turned down Sting's invitation to playe at a birthday party in London. They met again when Edin Karamazov visited Sting and Dominic Miller backstage at a concert at the Festhalle in Frankfurt, Germany. He carried a lute with him and played Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor for them. Dominic Miller had recently given a lute to Sting and this time Edin accepted Sting's invitation to visit him in England - which he did a few months later.
