"It wasn't so much imitating. It was compressed, and that was done on a real acoustic guitar. Yeah, I was whacking it pretty hard. There's a lot of harmonics, and I tuned the bottom string down to a D. That made that track really work. It was very dark before that, almsot too doomy to work on the album. It was wonderful in a way, kind of like something of (Miles Davis') "Bitches Brew", but it was so down in its feeling. I tried taking some of the keyboards out and it still wasn't right, and then I came up with a really beautiful, airy acoustic all the way through, which I thought was really nice. It reminded me of Led Zeppelin! We saved that track, as it were."
