Trivia

Stewart Copeland was the first to appear onstage for the Dublin soundcheck on a warm and sunny afternoon. He kept a steady beat for a while. Then he invited two lucky fans onto the stage where Sting and Andy Summers had also appeared by then.

For some reason The Police didn't have their normal oval stage in Dublin, but used a local stage instead. Stewart's percussion remained in view for the whole time.

During the soundcheck The Police rehearsed new guitar chords for Hole In My Life. They played a full version of Message In A Bottle with Sting saving his vocals for later. Message In A Bottle was played again with a lucky fan singing the main vocals - plus Sting adding a few backing vocals.

When The Police's concert began the weather had become astonishingly cold. Sting played in one of his usual t-shirts. Maybe this was a bad decision because he struggled with his voice at the next concert in Antwerp on 2007-10-08 (leading to the cancellation of a few concerts).
