Too Kool To Kalypso is an "utterly unofficial" fansite for Stewart Copeland and The Police. It is primarily an extensive image gallery and article archive, also featuring fan reports from various events and concerts. Song lyrics and links are also hosted, and there is a messageboard as well, although it is not in heavy use except on occasion as a back-up when other forums have been down.
The site is run exclusively by sockii. It is a non-profit site run out-of-pocket.
Site history
- sockii first opened a small Stewart Copeland fansite on 2003-01-13. It was originally hosted on the sockiipress.org domain. It included a news section, quotes, some sample audio files, and a small image gallery.
- On 2005-05-06 the site went through a major overhaul, narrowing the focus to primarily the image and article archive so as not to be redundant with Stewart's official site and a newly fansite at www.stewartcopeland.co.uk that covered other areas of Stewart fandom thoroughly.
- On 2006-04-24, the site moved to its own domain at www.tookooltokalypso.org, where it acquired its new name. It underwent another facelift at this time to expand the gallery and enable new features.[1]
- The website is still updated today and as of February 2008 contained over 2,500 images in its archive. The site experienced its highest levels of traffic to date in the months of June - August of 2007, during the summer U.S. reunion tour dates.
