This version of [[Truth Hits Everybody]] is structurally very similar to the [[Outlandos d'Amour]] version we all know. But there are some interesting differences. The first one is that there are no "Wo-ho-ho"s in the whole song. [[Sting]] ends almost each line in the verses on a high note. He still did that during [[The Police]]'s first US tour in October [[1978]], although the LP version had been recorded by then. Another difference is how - or better: when -  the word "Truth" is sung in the chorus. On the LP version "Truth" is sung on "3" and "Hits" on "3and". The Police record two songs at Matrix Studios
Truth Hits Everybody 7" Matrix Studios Safety Master Tape
Date: 1977-09-23
Location: London, England, UK - Matrix Studios
Attendees: The Police

Between 12:00pm and 09:00pm The Police record two songs at Matrix Studios: "What Can I Do?" (Next To You) and "Truth Hits" (Truth Hits Everybody). After eating at a restaurant Stewart returns home.

This version of Truth Hits Everybody is structurally very similar to the Outlandos d'Amour version we all know. But there are some interesting differences. The first one is that there are no "Wo-ho-ho"s in the whole song. Sting ends almost each line in the verses on a high note. He still did that during The Police's first US tour in October 1978, although the LP version had been recorded by then. Another difference is how - or better: when - the word "Truth" is sung in the chorus. On the LP version "Truth" is sung on "3" and "Hits" on "3and". On this 1977 version from Matrix Studios he sings "Truth" on "2and" and "Hits" on "3and".
