"The Ballad Of Mack The Knife" is a song written by Kurt Weill & Bertolt Brecht and recorded by Sting & Dominic Muldowney in 1985.

About the song

The original German song title is "Die Moritat von Mackie Messer". The English version sung by Sting was translated by Ralph Manheim and John Willett in 1976.

The LP credits mention that the song was recorded at the Théâtre Mogador with additional recording (probably for the supporting musicians only) at various studios in Paris and London.
