Introduction

Steinberger started to produced their headless basses in 1980. On 1982-01-18 Sting tried out Andy's bass first at the soundcheck and then for the concert - his own black L2 model with the serial # 430 was manufactured in 9/82 and sent to him shortly after directly from the factory.

The Steinberger bass was also used to record the Synchronicity album.

During the 1983-1984 Synchronicity Tour Danny Quatrochi played it on Invisible Sun, while Sting only used it occasionally.

Andy also owns that bass, while Stewart has got a similar guitar at the Sacred Grove.
