Contributors to the PoliceWiki own the copyright to their own contributions. However, by editing and publishing their contributions on the PoliceWiki, they are giving other people the right to edit their contributions. PoliceWiki does not give the right to others to redistribute included content without permission from the administrators at PoliceWiki.

Material such as audio samples, lyrics, album cover images, poster and other photographic imagery are included under Fair Use[1] as their inclusion in the PoliceWiki is for scholarship and informational purposes only. The PoliceWiki is a non-profit project which makes no money off of the inclusion of these materials in the wiki. It is our belief that sharing the materials in this format can in fact only increase interest in The Police and their related projects and does not in any way diminish their value to copyright and trademark holders.

That said, if a copyright or trademark holder objects to the inclusion of any materials here on PoliceWiki, they may contact the administrator directly at sockii @ policefans . org or through User_talk:Sockii. We will remove any such materials upon request from such sources.

Plagiarism (Oh noes!)

We realize that a great many fans and professional writers have done tremendous work compiling articles and data related to The Police in the past. Individuals writing articles for PoliceWiki are asked to cite any and all sources used in writing their articles (see Help:Citing Sources) and un-cited materials may be removed or at least tagged as lacking proper references.

However, extensive materials should not be directly copied from other websites, books, or other sources, with or without credit. If you feel that your work has been copied without credit here in any article, you are encouraged to contact one of the wiki's administrators who can look into the matter and attempt to resolve it.

Do 'not simply delete or erase the contents of an article. Such actions are considered vandalism and your IP address or account could be banned from further contributions to the wiki.
