Trivia

The MTV event was called "Rock Super Bowl XIX". The stadium has been host to "Rock Superbowls" before - featuring such performers as The Rolling Stones, The Who, Genesis, Pink Floyd, George Michael, Paul McCartney, Guns'n Roses, Billy Joel/Elton John and the Eagles.

In 1983, the capacity of the stadium was 48,000 - there were more than 30.000 people in the audience for today's event. The stadium was a football field with wood & steel bleacher seats on both of the length-wise sides of the field. The General Admission area was natural grass and very soft. It rained during most of this show it was very slushy but not too muddy. It has since been modernized.

There were two opening bands in this order: The Animals with Eric Burdon and The Fixx. The ticket prices were between $15.75 and $17.50. This was part of the Synchronicity tour so Sting wore the classic rag strewn blue-red-yellow jacket.
