Today Sting and friends probably went to the Marquee to see the Thompson Twins, followed by a preview of "The Long Good Friday".
The Thompson Twins played there a few times in 1981, but the January 5 date is quite impossible and the April 30 / May 1 dates are improbable. Today coincides with the movie premiere dates given at imdb.com - 26 February 1981 (for London) and 29 March 1981 for the rest of the country.
