This is the equipment Sting used at the 2nd Rockpalast concert in Essen, Germany on 1980-10-18.

Gear breakdown

Basses:

  • During the Rockpalast concert, Sting is playing a fretless red Fender Precision bass - which was a re-coloured version of the bass he bought at Manny's in October 1978 - it became his main bass for most of the 1980-1981 Zenyatta Mondatta Tour.
  • H van Zalinge Electric Stand-Up Bass with case
  • Sting also used an 8-string fretless and two different 4-string Ibanez basses. It seems he got the light brown 4-string and the dark brown 8-string in February 1980 and the white 4-string in February 1981 while being in Japan.
  • He also used Hamer bass guitars - which he received on 1980-11-22.
