The club was set up with the 'backstage' area actually up one flight of stairs next to the stage. Bookies had been a gay bar at one time and it still had a reputation for that. The stage was only about knee high so the audience could get really close to the band.  When [[The Police]] did the encore, the three of them came running down the stairs and leapt onto the stage.  After the show, a reporter and photographer from City Magazine went out to dinner with Andy and Stewart (Sting declined) for an interview.  They went to a little diner where all they ordered was cherry pie and vanilla ice cream (which they devoured in about 30 seconds).
